Today I'm here again with another Lawnfawnatics challenge. That's why I'm writing in English again.
Well, let’s move ahead to the topic of today. It's challenge #153 - Christmas in July. I admit it's a bit hard to find Christmas spirit in the middle of the summer. But since the weather here, on the west coast in Sweden, is more like our winters, just slightly warmer, right now I felt I had to give it a try.
Oh my! I have really struggled with this theme. I normally don't do a lot of Christmas
cards, so I don't have a lot of Christmas stamps, but I found two very old ones
from Lawn Fawn. So, I went ahead and stamped them up. While they were drying I,
accidently đ, surfed in to one of my favorite shops to
look around a little. I ended up ordering Lawn Fawn items for a whole lot of
money, but still no Christmas stamps. So, when I was coloring my stamped images
the following day, I decided to shop a little more in that store and this time
I ended up with three Christmas stamp set's. So today I'm showing a card using
one of those stamp set's; Furry and Bright. I think this is my
absolute favorite of my Christmas stamps. But I also realize that I need
to do some more shopping for Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I am so totally
addicted đ
Now, this is the card:
Sorry for the bad pictures, but I was shooting the photos late last night
and the light was really, really bad. |
As I said, I was really struggling with
the theme, and I think I did five (!) Christmas cards before this one. But, when I
looked at the cards that I’ve allready made, I did not have that wow! - feeling.
I decided to skip the Christmas cards and challenge and just do an ordinary
birthday card instead. But I couldn't resist to color some more of the Furry
and Bright stamps and suddenly I had made a Christmas card. Just like that!
Now I can participate in the challenge after all. And in addition to that I
also have six Christmas cards to send to family and friends.
Here’s some details from the card:
This puppy just wants the bone, with the golden tie, on the top. I put the puppy on foam dots to raise him up from the background a little. |
This little one is just happy with his bone, that he got from Santa
Claus. |
This little mischievous one has just snitched the lights from the
Christmas tree. He is also raised with foam dots.
If I ever get a puppy, I really want a dachshund. They are so damn (sorry!) cute.
But I probably never ever get a dog. My youngest son got a dog about a year
ago, and I have realized that I am a true cat person. Cats never do as they’re
told and as far as they know, you are their servants. I love that personality. When
it’s about cats at least. People should never be like cats đ
Here at the west coast, we can look forward to some more rain for the next couple of days. I’m not really that sad about the bad weather. That means I can craft even more. How great isn’t that? But it would be nice to see the sun a little before I begin to work soon. Well, the weather isn’t anything you can control. It will be what it will be.
Despite the weather situation all over the world, I
hope you all have a great afternoon, at least here in Europe it’s afternoon,
and a nice evening.
See you!
